The Lessons we Can learn from Elon Musk on Success.

I’m a firm believer that there are success “shortcuts”, for lack of better word. I also believe that the people that have been and are where we want to leave a trail for us to follow, “secrets” to their success that we can use as well and achieve our own success.

Elon Musk is one such person. He has made up his mind to create a way for the people of earth to visit Mars.

I personally have no desire whatsoever to visit Mars, especially after having seen Total Recall ( the Arnold Schwartzeneggar version). I’m a low risk adverse person when it comes to my oxygen;)

I’m really big on watching biographies of famous people. It’s very refreshing to see that my climb is not impossible; it’s just challenging as hell.

When asked why he even continued forward with materializing his vision of the electric car, Musk replied:

“When something is important enough, you do it even if the odds are not in your favor.”

That’s some deep s@#$ right there. And it’s so true. How many times in your life have you believed in something so powerfully that you “went for it” despite everyone around you telling you that you’re wasting time?

I can count the times on my fingers and toes.

Elon Musk has always had a soft spot for the advancement of the human race.In his late 20’s, he sold Paypal along with Peter Thiel and Max Levchin. He became a millionaire. When asked why he didn’t just retire and live happiliy ever after, he said that he wouldn’t have been content just chillin’ and drinking Mai Tais for the rest of his life.

When you look at his resume, you can clearly see that he is environmently conscious and we salute him for it.

What lesson of success can we take away from Elon Musk’s life?

Connect to a goal that will benefit the whole of humanity (in addition to your own goals) and you benefit in the process.

Best,
